Welcome to my blog . . . the crude fumblings at communicating to you my journey in becoming a missionary doctor. I am currently a MSI (medical student, year one) after completing a B. S. in Biblical Studies at Moody Bible Institute – this is a story for another day. I included this picture of me taken by one of my med school friends, because I like the contrast between dark and light. I see the same contrast between wrong and right in the world today. My nickname here at medical school is “Laser”. I rather like the name, especially as it reminds me of the piercing light I am privileged to carry – the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ. “The people who walk in darkness will see a great light; those who live in a dark land, the light will shine on them” (Isaiah 9:2 NASB).
You’ve started! And no fair with the picture…I’m still working on figuring that out. Need to find time to do that.

What a long journey you are traveling, Rebekah! Better a lengthy, arduous journey with you hand is God’s than a short, fun one on the broad way.
